In LOVE with Undefined!!!

Have you ever wanted a stamp but couldn’t find the perfect image? Maybe you have a special family logo or a sketch you’d like to have as a stamp. Well now you can! Undefined is Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp carving product line. You define the rubber stamp any way you want.

I have to admit, I was a little intimidated at the thought of "carving" my own stamp but yesterday I decided to give it a whirl and I love the way it turned out!

My daughter has a birthday this week and her sorority is gearing up for rush so that was my inspiration! I'm going to send the stamp along with the card so she can make a card or other craft for her "little"!

Banner Class Success!

Back in July I shared 4 months of creativity coming up. Well, today was the 1st of 4 classes and it was a great success! Here is the sample banner I created for the class inspired by Stampin' Up!s own Sara Douglas:

I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo and Strawberry Slush.

And here is a card I created with the new Thinlits dies...super cute and super easy! Colors are exactly the same as the banner!

I only managed to get a picture of one of the girls' banners. They all decided to use the word Welcome so they could incorporate it into their everyday decor...smart thinking!

This one used Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.

Thanks for looking! I can't wait for the Halloween Banner Class!

NEW!!! Thinlits Card Dies

Label Card Thinlits Die (#133479)
Circle Card Thinlits Die (#133480)

They’ve been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! Our amazing new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step.
Thinlits Card Dies

These new card dies come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just for flip cards. (The Circle Card Thinlits Die comes with 10 total pieces; the Label Card Thinlits Die comes with nine total pieces.)

With the number of dies you’re getting, plus the die that creates the card itself, the price is a great value—especially to create an interactive card!
  • The main shape in the cards (circle and label) can work with a lot of our stamp images so you can create tons of different kinds of cards using many different stamp sets. Here are just a few suggestions to get you started:

Label Card Thinlits Die (item #133479):
  • Happy Day Stamp Set (item #130294 W item 130297 C)

Circle Card Thinlits Die (item #133480):
  • Worth the Wait Stamp (item #131094 W)
  • Five-Way Flower Stamp (item #131088 W)

Both card dies pair well with:
  • Oh, Hello Stamp Set (item #131931 W item 130733 C)
  • Yippee-Skippee! Stamp Set (item #131341 W item 131344 C)
  • Really Good Greetings Stamp Set (item #130330 W item 130333 C)
  • Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set (item #130324 W item 130327 C)
  • These dies also work well with our new magnetic platform (item#130658) so you can place dies exactly where you want them.

I'm LOVIN' Mixed Media!!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I had some time this afternoon to work in my creative corner and I decided to try my hand at a mixed media canvas that they showed us at convention. So, after 30 minutes of gathering supplies, I was ready to get started!

I'm not sure about you but, when I'm trying something for the first time it is easiest for me to just CASE a project I've seen. That way I don't have to try to come up with a new design while I'm learning new techniques....I'm a 'one thing at a time' kind of girl. :-)

So, at convention, one of the presenters shared some mixed media canvases that she made. I took some pictures of the big screen while she was walking through the project...and...though many of them had the back of someone's head more in focus than the big screen itself, they proved to be VERY helpful to me today!

Here is my interpretation of the project...

Obviously mixed media is not for everyone but I really love how it turned out and will definitely be making more! I'm even thinking of offering it as a seasonal/holiday class...what do you think?

Forced to be a T-Rex fan

Okay, many of you that know me know that my sweet hubby refers to me as his "T-Rex". Now...he says it's because my arms are short..and yes, he does that thing where he tucks his elbows into his sides and flails his forearms to demonstrate. :-)  In fact, I can count on a laugh from a cartoon or some other clip of a T-Rex several days out of the week! Personally, I think his view may be somewhat distorted because he is 6'3" with "freakishly long arms" but that's okay...we'll let him think he's the normal one. ;-)

Well, I just want you to know that convention didn't slow him down at all! We went down to get some candy from this amazing candy tower  at JouJou Toy Shop in our hotel and, while we were checking out, he was looking at my phone. I assumed one of the girls had texted so thought nothing of it. On our way back to the room, I got a text...I looked at my phone and noticed my new wallpaper that I just have to share...
I laughed out loud...This little guy was sitting by the cash register at the toy shop! Have I changed it back to my pretty flowers? No, I can't. We save our memories in all kinds of different ways...this one is a wallpaper..every time I turn my phone on it makes me smile.

What are some "different" ways you hold on to memories?

A Sea of Demonstrators

As I mentioned, I just returned from Stampin' Up!s 25th Anniversary Convention. Here is a picture of demonstrators and spouses pouring out of the main hall on their way to their next stop...5,800 people moved into Salt Lake City from Thursday through Saturday for this spectacular event!

And here is a picture of some of the make and takes that we did. I have to admit, I didn't want to waste a minute of my time at convention so I brought them home and made them up...aren't they great?!?! And OH SO EASY!!!!!
